Pvc foam line: NYcell

Due to their excellent stiffness/weight and strength/weight ratios, NYcell panels in closed-cell crosslink PVC foam are particularly suitable for constructions using the sandwich system in a variety of sectors such as yachting, aviation, transportation, wind energy and artefacts in general.  It can be used with either mould laminating or the One Off system and, thanks to its high styrene resistance, NYcell can be used both with epoxy resins and polyesters.

Its main features are: 

  • Low resin absorption, due to its low porosity and therefore lower weight of the artefact
  • Very low water absorption
  • High resistance and stiffness to weight
  • Excellent thermal insulation
  • Good fire resistance

NYcell can be processed as follows:

FLAT SHEET "L": PVC sheet regular in shape with controlled thicknesses. Works best for linear structural surfaces, easily workable and superimposable by simple bonding. Available in densities from 40 to 200kg/m³ with thicknesses ranging from 3 to 80 mm.

SCRIM “S”: squared PVC sheet fixed on a VTR base, which makes it applicable on uneven surfaces, where one needs to create moulded artefacts also requiring an adequate structural strength.

FLEX “F”: semi-rigid PVC sheet with engravings on both sides to facilitate sheet bending and the passage of resin onto the base.
